Prison Product Shop

I know you're all probably confused and alarmed at the title but I actually went there.. My friends and I went to go get massages from inmates at the Chiang Mai Women's Prison.  It sounds super sketchy but it's for a good cause!  The massages are performed by inmates as a part of a rehabilitation training program for those eager to have a second chance and use the job skills they've developed behind bars.  The ones working in the massage centre are supposed to be released within 6 months and use the money for use after their release.  The cost for an hour massage was 180 baht which is around $6-so crazy!  Not to mention that the massage was amazing!  It was a traditional Thai massage which is a bit different than ordinary massages.  They use different parts of their body to massage you, like their feet and elbows. I was actually surprised how rough they were but I got used to it.  I would definitely go back there again.

Also, a group of us went to the Old City tonight to The North Gate Jazz Co-Op.  It was a little bar/music venue with a very casual and relaxing atmosphere.  Dad, you would of loved it!  The music was great too.  It's supposed to be open mic night tomorrow and we were going to go again to check it out! (No, I am not singing..)
